When analyzing a photo artifact, reflect on the following questions:
What is the focal point in this image?
What background details add to the context of the image?
Who is the photographer? What biases might they have?
What does this photograph show about the conflict as a whole?
While photographs can appear very simple at first glance, go deeper with your analysis. The background, facial expressions, and focus of a still shot often offer more insight into a scene than a video clip.
